Naxos festival goes out for food:
AXIOTISSA: maybe one of the best taverns of the island. It is on the way from Chora to Pirgaki, at the area called Castraki. All the dishes are fine, and made of natural products, while the wine and the raki (strofilia in the folk speech) are made from the vineyard of John, who cares so that his traditional cuisine, is beyond the customary. The smile and the exuberance of Sofia, doesn’t only opens our appetite, but also it makes our day. To please your selves with all these, its recommended to make a reservation.

ELLI: in the middle of summer, in Chora, with the crowd, we find a quiet refuge, with excellent view, cool etesian wind and gentle attention from Alexandros at the restaurant Elli. One of the oldest restaurants in Chora although it has fresh cuisine and serves special flavors. You will find it, on the sand of Grotta, next to the port. Telephone: 22850 25476
PALATIA: they are on Agia Anna, one of the finest beaches of Naxos, next to the sea and the little port with the fishing ketches. This is why it has the best fish dishes, and spaghetti with sea food. The anchovy and the squids combine perfectly with the excellent white wine or with the ouzo from Naxos.
Telephone: 22850 41591, 26588.

JOHNY’S: It is placed on the beautiful village Sagri, near to the Bazeos Tower. It is the favourite hang out of the festival, not only because it neighbours, but also because Nikos is an excellent cook. Winy rooster, rabbit stifado, calf with tomato sauce, and the best pizza of the island. The vegetables come from his garden and the kindness comes directly from his heart.
Telephone: 22850 41545, 29129
The house-made jams ERA never miss from the breakfast in Bazeos tower. They are made by John at Halki from seasonal fruits with no concervatives, in a scene of a postmodern presentation.

Naxos Festival recommends accommodation:
Hotel Foinikas: At Pirgaki next to the waves. More exotic that it seems in the picture, but also so island, dressed of the light and the blue for the sea and the sky. It has luxury and quality, but we prefer it because of the kindness of mrs Helen, who welcomes us.
